Pretty sure people are forgetting why they play COD in the first place
Sure the cosmetics suck and the micro-transactions are garbage, but does it really matter in the end if the core gameplay is still fine? Do you really need to earn cosmetics to reassure yourself that you're having fun with the game? Is your time really wasted by not progressing in some self imposed grind?
This isn't me speaking for the current situation. I think it needs work. But this subreddit has just gone so over-the-top with the sheer amount of hate and negativity, that looking for fun posts becomes a huge pain. Anyone who simply enjoys the core game play gets called a "shill" or an "apologist" who's defending a "multi-billion dollar company."
Simply compare how this subreddit reacts to cosmetics and how the apex legends reddit reacts to cosmetics, and it's night and day:

Constructive criticism is important, but this subreddit (or the community in general) has gone way beyond constructive and just puts down people who still enjoys the game, to prove a point

As someone who sometimes works 50 hour weeks and can't play as much as i used to cod sub reddits used to be where i could catch up on all the new gameplay and dlc news. This year has been a let down with all the bitching and crying the community has been doing lately. It's really pathetic to say the least.
It's sad. I come here now and then to see what's new with the game. Every time I think there's something to be hyped about, there's just posts that keep complaining. I'm fine with constructive criticism, but most of it isn't even constructive
It’s been that way for a few years now unfortunately.
My point exactly.
