Thanks, I guess!

I mean... after the other full loads, you only needed 8 more to finish the buy order so yeah.
Even though there are 45,105 remaining hull parts to finish construction? Why would the buy order not be for the full amount? I should add, this station produces all of those components and there are more than enough in storage for it to be able to fulfill all of the outstanding amount.
People are jumping in to find reasons for it, but you are right this has been an issue for a while. I also find it really annoying they can’t use the resources sat in the station to help build it and have to rely on external ships
The problem with this game is its built to not micro manage, yet, it has aspects where you must. You can take a tradeship and transfer to your build storage, but its annoying.
I use a mod that makes the station traders fulfill the build storage buy orders, I think the problem is that the build storage doesn't put up buy orders for the full amount of resources that the station needs. It seems to do them piecemeal.

Every once in a while I see one of my L trade ships doing this and have a small meltdown. Sure, you may be getting a large percent profit by buying those 6 drone components at rock bottom, Susan, BUT YOUR SHIP CAN CARRY 800 OF THEM!
I wish they'd rework the trading so it could fulfill several buy orders with a single sell order. Found cheap drone components? Great! Buy as many as you can hold or they're selling and then search for the best buy orders you can find to sell them all across multiple stations.
I like the current reservation system, but the logic needs a serious rework to not only consider (as you suggest) multiple stops to sell, but also the size of the cargohold when weighing buy options. If you've got 12000m3 storage, picking up 8 hull parts is an insane waste of time. I actually assign couriers to all of my stations to avoid this problem but still catch the occasional Selene or Shuyaku filling them. This also seems like a systemic problem with the station managers. Wharfs and Shipyards shouldn't be ordering 8 hull parts in the first place. They should be placing orders not to fill their own orders but to fill their holds so that they're ready to build ships on demand.
It's simple, there weren't enough hull parts available to fill his cargo hold after all the other freighters purchased a full load.
Yes there were. There's like 50,000 of them sat in the station storage.
This made me smile, I love Ralph
I normally don't have L sized freighters as autotraders, but I frequently will reserve one or two for manual orders which require movement of a large number of wares for a specific project.
That is strange. In only see this happen in my game when it's the final shipment to fulfill the build requirement.
Check that ships cargo, could be loaded down with stuff it couldn’t sell. It’s annoying but every now and then I have to manually sell/dump cargo in order to get storage space back.
Nope, no stuck cargo, just a lazy pilot.
That's how numbers work.
Ya, this sometime stops construction for me where there is only 1 hull part left and no one is coming to put in 1 fucking hull part.
