Is the current nvidia-lts and linux-lts not compatible?
I installed nvidia-lts with linux-lts. After a reboot, nvidia-lts is not loaded.
However, installing nvidia with linux works just fine.

I often find that nvidia-lts and linux-lts are not compatible, it seems to happen quite frequently. You may have better luck with nvidia-dkms and linux-lts.
nvidia-dkmsworks for me.
