In the case creation email, I was asked to mail all civil documents in one package to NVC PO Box. I am required to obtain a police certificate from Hong Kong Police. However, in the U.S. Visa: Reciprocity and Civil Documents by Country, under Hong Kong it says "Please do not request that the 'Certificate of No Criminal Conviction' or an appropriate reply together with the applicant's police record be sent directly to the National Visa Center, as this may cause delays in your case."

While I was on F-1 OPT, I got an employer to change my status to H1-B. Since my job requires traveling internationally, I went back to my home country to apply for an H1-B stamp. I didn't expect it would take long, but my case had been put under administrative processing (221g) for 65 days.

Does anybody here think the Department of State is trying to duplicate the effort of USCIS? If one is approved by the USCIS for adjustment of status, why does the Department of state create another hurdle for that visa applicant?

I talked to three sofi associates and they all have verified I am eligible for the bonus. They have created a ticket to process the bonus for me, but it has been sitting for months now. Is sofi having insufficient staff to work or having insufficient funds to credit the bonus?

Update: Sofi has credited the bonus points after I have filed a complaint with them as well as with the CFPB.

I installed nvidia-lts with linux-lts. After a reboot, nvidia-lts is not loaded.

However, installing nvidia with linux works just fine.

I am sure some of you have experienced a power limit (about 20-25 W) on battery. Has Lenovo addressed this issue in a BIOS update that anyone can share it here? I am using BIOS version 1.09 where this is the first version where Linux is supported.

On my ThinkPad P1, it doesn't get hotter than 65 Celsius under the current power limit on battery. I don't understand why they need to put a strong power limit on battery. If I choose to use the "Maximum Performance" in the BIOS setting, I know I will get a very short battery life. Why that setting isn't doing anything at all? Being a mobile workstation, limiting it to only 1/3 of the performance while on battery just doesn't make se

As of now,i f you want to order an extra charger, Lenovo.com does not have it. Upon checking, it looks like Encompass will have it. There are 2 two-prong and 2 three-prong variants made by two manufacturers.

I live in the US and I pre-ordered a ThinkPad P1 on the first day (Aug 21st). Lenovo shipped it this Monday (Sep 3rd). This surprised me a bit because Lenovo is always behind its shipping schedule and "ships in 4-5 weeks" is always an underestimate. Yes, I did get an original estimate of January 1st.

It should be delivered by this Friday. The specs are listed as follow:
