Maybe it's because I'm not American, but Carson is the number one name I feel like I'll never understand.

Car + son, son of a car? Just no.

Carson Daly, Carson Wentz, there are a few other famous ones.

It has different origins, from middle English "carre" (a marsh), Welsh "caer" (a fort), or Gaelic "carr" (a rock).

I never saw it as an American name, although it isn't that unusual to me.

Lol Carson here. It's never made much sense to me either but, hey. I like it.

Vivian is such a pretty name! Does Remington go by Remmie, if you know?

He does!

Aw, that's such a cute name.

He and Antonia are the only ones that go by nicknames. No "Nick" or "Stan" in this class!

I know an Antonia that goes by Toni!

I love Antonia! I also like Declan, but I grew up with a Declan and always called him duckling as a little kid... which honestly is cute.

Nicholas Stanley Carson with Carson as the surname would actually be awesome.

I love Antonia.

I wonder if Stanley is going to make a comeback. I have a 7 year old student named Stanley and at first I thought it was funny but honestly the name is a perfect fit for him. It's definitely growing on me.

I love Vivian.
I wanted to name my daughter Vivian Elise.

  • Harper -- I used to not really like this name, but it has really, really grown on me! I think it's cute.
  • Dante -- Not bad, but just not my personal taste and has been one that I really don't prefer.
  • Nicholas -- Classic. Nick/Nicky are cute nicknames.
  • Stanley -- Another one that I just don't love personally.
  • Carson -- Cute! I prefer Carter, but I still like this one.
  • Emelia -- Love it! Very pretty.
  • Luke -- Love it!!
  • Peyton -- Is this male or female? I think the name is OK. Definitely unisex to me.
  • Vivian -- I strongly prefer the spelling Vivienne for some reason. The other spelling (again, I don't know why!) just seems a little 'old' to me. But nicknames like Viv and Vivi are very cute!
  • Declan -- Seems to be very popular on here, but not my personal taste at all.
  • Sophie -- Love it! And love it just as Sophie even rather than Sophia.
  • Liam -- Love it!!!!
  • Remington -- A little too push/fancy for me. A mouthful to say. Remi/Remy is an OK nickname.
  • Madison -- Maddie is a pretty cute nickname. I prefer Madeleine/Madeline though.
  • Antonia -- Not a personal favorite. Not bad.

Honestly, most of these names are pretty great! None really stood out for me as being terrible at all. I like seeing this too because it reminds you that even the most popular names may or may not be seen in a group of kids! And the very popular ones (like Liam, which was #1 this year) are still only here once.

Of this group, my favorite names are definitely Sophie, Liam, Emelia, and Luke!
