Am I missing a part in the twitter thread where she threatens him with violence or something? Cause all I could find was her responding to being “Gamersplained.” by a YouTube partner in a kinda rude way. It seems like like a disproportionate response for what happened.

"Attacked" being in the verbal/textual sense. She didn't really do anything besides be incredibly rude to people for little reason. Sorry if the title misled you, I needed a good rhyme.

Background: Jessica Price, a former writer for Arenanet, was fired last year due to major twitter drama in which she was openly hostile to other people. News of her firing has been voted to the top of the subreddit, which is remarkable considering she was on the team for less than a year.
At present, Jessica details some behind-the-scenes info about her work at ArenaNet, to coincide with the release of a major story update for the game. But when this is posted to the subreddit, some redditors don't take it well.

Holy crap I can't believe she got fired for that.

The GW2 subreddit got brigaded and all the KiA and incel types of people made it into a huge deal and basically forced the company to fire her to end the fake outrage.

She'd already been fired for being a PR nightmare at her previous job, she's just a toxic nasty person in general. It wasn't just that she was very rude to someone, she was rude to a beloved ANet partner who also has an NPC in game named after to him.

I remember this drama hitting srd and there were a lot of people even here saying she deserved to be fired.
Either way the reality is games companies quite enjoy their gaming communities being toxic to be the rock to their hard place.

Uhh, which companies actually enjoy this? Most of the ones I follow like Ubisoft or a good chunk of EA companies include all the “evil pandering” that toxic shitheads go into frothing rage over, even Netherealm did a 180 with designs for the women. All I can think of is Riot, mostly it’s game companies getting called in for greedy corporate stuff like crunch hours.
Also I think that sentiment towards Jessica cake from calling a community partner a “random asshat”, I remember that being brought up in the SRD thread. It’s far from huge but I can see a lot of companies dropping employees who did that as well.

Very weird you think some better character design is mutually exclusive with treating your employees like humans. Especially when one of those companies you mentioned caused their artists to have PTSD.

Somehow this isn't even a troll
I'm getting flashbacks to that dude in r/JapanTravel that got there and realized he was as much a loser there than he was in the US.
