Working the same muscle groups two days in a row with similar exercises
I’m following the Bootyful Beginnings plan A, B, R, A, C, R, R. This is not my first time lifting so I’m doing more than body weight for hip thrusts (single leg and both legs), deadlifts, squats. I’m making a few substitutions to accommodate for my glute imbalance by doing some of the exercises as single leg instead of bilateral. My A days totally kill my hamstrings and when I wake up for B days I wonder if I need to take a day off in between to let my hammies recover before repeating similar exercises. The glute bridges on A days tire my legs then I’m supposed to go back for shoulder elevated hip thrusts on B days. Should I just push through and tough it out or should I be adding a rest day in between my A and B days so my hamstrings aren’t so fatigued? My previous program I was doing more of a PPL split because I was lifting 5-6 days a week. My main focus this time around is legs so I want to target my glutes every day if possible.
