I have had to start a new Game but I find I cannot select the Anarchist? Any reason for this that is known.
Edit: I think I know, you need to unlock with UBI points, and I don't have any, spent them already.

You want his avatar? you need points for that yes. If you mean you want him as AI to play against when selecting the 3 Ai players just look for him there.
do u have the dlc?
u need to buy it with the deluxe or collectors edition for instance first
I do.
Personally, I had to start the game once and quit for the DLC to properly unlock.
To use his portrait as your own, and unlock a couple of decorations, you do need to spend Uplay points. Somewhat questionable, but I prefer a more gentlemanly appearance anyway.
Did you go into the ingame dlc menu? There should be written arnachrist DLC. Selecting it here put a exclamation mark next to new game and I could select him
