Feelings the blues today

Not sure why? It's Monday, I don't want to be at work. I am single and wish I had a significant other but that seems to be a challenge to find. I have friends but it is not the same. These waves do come and go where I have a high about life and then a low of "meh". I've often considered going back to therapy. I had some while married - couples counseling. Then I've had some while single post divorce to help deal with the new dating world. I think now I should go back. I have some days where I don't think it is necessary and others where I just want someone to talk to and listen.

I was listening to some audiobook recordings from a lady called Alison Armstrong who is a dating and relationship therapist and I really loved the way she describes men and women - and that, it's not about finding a partner, it's about "sorting" through the pool of availability for a match quickly, by really understanding who you are and what you want from a relationship, then being the "honest" you so the other party qualifies themselves into or out of the relationship quickly based on whether they like the real you or not. If they don't like you, then good, because they are the wrong person.

Obligatory "not a professional" disclosure.

Your mood is very closely tied to your physiology. And your physiology is very closely tied to your mood. First and foremost, has your body been taken care of? That is, have you been eating, sleeping, and active enough? I feel sluggish today as well and I don't really want to be in at work either, but I know that, at the very least, it has something to do with my poor sleep these last couple of nights.

Having said that, if you find yourself mentally occupied/fixated or ruminating about something (or things) specifically, that may indicate some feelings/experiences that may need to be understood better - there's a reason (or are multiple reasons, perhaps) you're fixated on those things, after all, even if you may not be aware as to what those reasons are. We are very logical creatures - sometimes unwittingly - as there is always a cause for every behavior/thought.

I found today an article about relationship anxiety by Shrryl Paul. She explains very well how to fall in love with yourself and small things in nature all around.
