How much are they

9
ThatOneChiGuy•

Ranging from $51- $53 it seems. Well worth it!

19
MySocksFit•

For a set of 4?

26
PyroNinja74•

Sorry other commenters were mean. You must be new here, welcome! No, I understand it must look like they are a set of 4 in the picture but artisan prices are almost always per individual cap. They typically range anywhere from $20 for a new maker selling a very simple sculpt all the way up to $100 for experienced, well known makers selling very complex or detailed s culpts (or sometimes even more for commissioned one-off caps). $50 is a great price for these given Jelly Key's reputation and the quality and complexity of them. They could easily go for $80, but the maker apparently wanted to make them more accessible, which is awesome!

Edit: Wow! Thanks for the gold kind stranger. Literally made my day! <3

That's a good joke right there, also there's 12 to choose from.

I don't think you're balking at the price, but I found this video to be pretty interesting and informative. After watching it I realized that without some serious innovation and economies of scale, artisan keys would always be expensive. https://youtu.be/93rkBbT-pOI

You understand how much hand crafted work goes into making just one of these?

WorthlessTrinket•

These look sick, love the celestial and hexagon guardians in particular. Will this happen again in the not too distant future? Want one but just spent like $300 on kb stuff...

3
Extraxyz•

You can be 99% sure that these will never become available again after this groupbuy, and your only option will be looking around on mechmarket for the same keycap at thrice the price.

And from experience I can promise that you will regret that.

6
Kraoten•

yep, I missed their koi fish space bar gb, I want one soooooo bad

1
Smaggles_•

these are really cool, im definitely getting one.

would you be willing to make a video on the process of creating these? it seems interesting

MinaDarshOLKB Planck, TX84se. All with Rosélios and Colemak-DH.•

Shuuuuucks, no R3 option, I would've totally jumped in. They're so pretty! (Refraction on the GEM profile makes it hard to see the shapes within, it seems.)

Rimbotic•

This shall be worthy of being my first artsian

ordered

15
Mynya•

My first as well! I know I’m not gonna get them for a long time so I got the 12-set as a birthday/Christmas/next years birthday for myself lol...

3
AgentFelix0013•

Also my first. My wife ordered one as an anniversary present for me. I'm excited

3
iridescent2•

Same here. I'm new to MKs and they (artisans) all seem so expensive but this is the only one I've seen so far that seemed worth it to me. I'm excited.

2
Rimbotic•

I'm also fairly new aswell with my ducky one 2 mini being my first "real?" MK . Previously owned the logitech orion. So yes this artsian keycap costs around half the price of the keyboard itself.

2
WallziiLeopold FC750R PD | Cherry MX Clear•

Damn those are beautiful. Keep telling myself I'm done with artisans but one of those would look great on my Leopold.

My only reservation right now is mixing-up profiles. Not sure I want to put an SA profile cap on my board... Decisions, decisions...

9
WallziiLeopold FC750R PD | Cherry MX Clear•

Well, turns out I couldn't resist.

Pulled the trigger on an Aurora Gem. It'll be my new escape key.

That's sick!

2
Plebtasticx•

I’m never gonna get into artisans at this price.

4†
MSCOTTGARAND•

Most artisans are handmade, if you want mass produced "artisans" you can get sub $20 from etsy, aliexpress, banggood, taobao. The quality will reflect the price though, but you can add some flair without breaking the bank.

9
mjcobley•

So you'd like them to be hand crafted but not pay the creator for their time and effort. Sounds great

-7
Plebtasticx•

What the actual fuck? Assumption assumptions.

4
mjcobley•

You're right, it sounded like you were expecting them to be cheaper, my bad

-3†
AbusedStepchildDucky Shine 5•

I mean you can appreciate the art and the work that goes into them but you're still paying $50+ for one single keycap. Are they worth it to everyone? No, but that doesn't mean you don't appreciate them.

1
mandarasa•

Do they ship to the UK, and if yes, how much is the delivery and tax? I can't find that info on their website.

3
Extraxyz•

I paid 6 USD for shipping to the Netherlands

2

Grabbed Hexagon Warriors and Orthea Undertow.

My first Artisans. SO excited!!

2
AsianForkɹɐqǝɔɐdS•

Same! Wondering if the Othea one glows in the dark though, doesn't seem to have picture or video reference, but the specs seem to broadly say that they glow.

1
thecheeselouise•

These are amazing. Your keycaps are always a step above.

1
fl0yd_1•

I... I want to touch it.... till the end of time

1
cainy1991•

These look great!

Regardless of my ability to, or will to I could never justify the purchase.
I get the labour involved so I'm not dissing the price, just not something I could do.

1
AFSynchro•

Ah!!! I've always wanted to buy Artisan Keycaps, but every time I look into it, the ones I want are sold out. Thank for for this post! Just bought a couple :')
