NYC/Long Island Photographers under $1500?

Hi,

We've splurged on some vendors that were really important to us, and now we're realizing just how expensive a good photographer can be.

If you or anyone you know will be in our region/budget for June 2020, please message me!

I realize this probably isn’t what you want to hear, but wedding photographers in general have to be charging about $3k at a minimum to make a living. Take into account a high cost of living area like Long Island and you’re even above that. It’s not that you won’t be able to find someone to shoot for $1500, but if you really break down how much pay that ends up being when all is said and done, it's incredibly low pay per hour despite sounding like a lot. They’ll have to be cutting corners somewhere and you may not know where until something goes wrong - whether it be they straight up aren’t prepared for shooting in the variety of conditions a wedding day requires and irreparably mis-shoot parts of your day, don’t know how to work with people and make y’all feel awkward at your wedding, don’t have backup gear and their camera breaks, don’t have a backup system in place and lose your photos... I know sometimes there’s nothing you can do about your budget, but I’d keep in mind that the photos will be the only memory you have of the other vendors you splurged on.
