Do goals automatically adjust?

if I set a goal to hit, say, $60 by December 2019, YNAB will tell me to save $10 a month (July, Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec) to hit my goal, correct?

If I skip my July contribution towards that goal, does the goal automatically adjust to tell me that I now need to save $12 a month instead to hit my goal? Or would I need to reset the goal each time I miss a monthly target?

Yup. It'll calculate based on what month you're in and how much is in the category at the moment.

Similarly if you budget double in one month, it'll reduce the amount you need to budget in future months.

Thanks. I want to put long term goals in there that I might not be able to find just yet.

Target Category Balance by Date goals will automatically adjust. If you spend within that category before the due date (e.g., buy a Christmas present on sale in Oct), you need to manually reduce the goal by that amount because it's no longer needed in Dec.
