[Request] USA My heart is broken my special needs daughter had a birthday and no one showed up. I bought a used I pad and I’m locked out because the person who donated it to the goodwill didn’t disconnect it from her find me phone app. So it’s useless. I

Hey this is a long shot, but what if you posted something online or asked the local paper to write a line, or even the goodwill to put up a poster asking about the tablet? I would guess that whomever donated it would be local possibly, and It’s not the sort of thing you donate on the regular so I’m sure they would remember it.

Might by chance be able to get it sorted that way??

Don’t worry about people showing up, you are there! The memories and beautiful fun you can share together mean that other people right now are not required! Some of the people who didn’t turn up may well have really had legitimate reasons for not being able to attend, it can happen!

Take it as an opportunity to think about perhaps getting a more supportive circle, are there any nice groups or activities in your local area you could plan to do together? ( sometimes planning is half the fun)

Even something as simple as a trip to the park, a walk around the block, a trip to the arcade with $5 can really be awesome if you decide to try to make it awesome, (I hope that makes sense!)

Perhaps someone smarter than me might have a work around for the tablet, but I’d talk to the goodwill they may be able to help/be understanding and possibly give you a refund?? Worth a phone call to try

All the best to you, please wish your little one happy birthday from me!

Thank you I’m completely screwed out of my money and have a devastated daughter If I had known before I wiped it Because I have the passcode I could of written down the email and asked this person to help me

I tried and it was returned for being incorrect. Goodwill said “sorry nothing we can do, not refundable”

My daughter is on the spectrum she doesn’t really understand. She does understand that she got nothing for her birthday and nobody came. I can’t even process all this. I’m in between jobs. I’m going to try to put together a Amazon list and retry a party. Right now I’m speechless

What are you requesting? An IPad?

That's a very expensive request.

No, I’m sorry I just wrote in the comments. Im just so upset. I thought when I posted there was a chance I could fix this. There isn’t. So I’m pulling myself together. I’m thinking of making her a amazon wishlist with a few things to cheer her up.

Since this was a donated item, that I paid $150 for ( the irony) Maybe there is someone out in reddit community with a used I pad. For now my request is if there’s anyone willing to help make my daughters birthday tragedy a little better.
