Mango

Feedback Received!

Inside your shadow:

There’s a Mango

you always eat,

Gleaming

below the sun

Like the Holy graal,

Like a star liberated from heavens

We cannot touch.

With your tongue:

you caress,

You graze

a light blessed

tenderly

By the Mother's growing seed,

Which keeps you

buried

Within a shadow that follows

Those memories of night and morning,

Where the Mango beams joyous light

Thru dark trails

where you always

walk

and eat.

I just feel so much warmth reading this. Your sun has warmed me and the taste of that summer fruit lingers here on my tongue. Your words are truly palpable. This is what I call a great read and an excellent use of poetic expression. Go well, traveller. Keep us poetically informed as you go.

This was impactful with very little words - it was short and sweet! I liked how you were able to paint everything so vividly with your word choice.

I enjoyed the parallels between mango, for an instance (juicy, fresh) to things that spark more emotions like ‘joyous light’. Feels like they correlate.

Also, loved the older form of ‘grail’, even got people thinking it’s a typo.

I feel happiness here. But not an overly ecstatic happiness. It's like seeing a storm pass, or knowing that after all your struggles things will be alright.

There's a lot of really interesting imagery at play here- the balance between acting/consuming in shadow and how nervous that indulgence is resonates pretty well with the sexual tension and biblical imagery. there's just enough substance such that the reader can kind of parse out their own meaning, and it flows well together. also great job on managing so many conflicting emotions in as few short lines as there are. thumbs up bro

I really like how the Mango is not ever pinned to something specific. It leaves so much open to interpretation, it provokes some thought but gives nothing away. Very nice.

I’m not really sure what the poem is about, maybe try fixing clarity? Also you have a typo in your 6th line
