From time to time I'll be writing an in-depth article about something going on in SimDemocracy. This isn't meant to replace our favorite Toast Posts, just offer the view of an Independent on something going on with our subreddit. My first article tackles a recent court case that got a lot of attention, and examines the issues involved in the case.

I actually like what you have brought up. I also do want to point out that Harassment can go a long way between Spam pinging when told not to and NSFW Posting. and I mainly think that this can be an interesting yet free discussion that can be brought up with the Senate, President and Attorney General.

Keep up the good work!

I agree

Interesting site note: It wasn't SimDemocracy against him.

It was a civil case.

I'd argue that it was a blend of both. Nova_SM wasn't really suing for damages (which would make it a civil case), but arguing that dick_head86 should be punished for his actions (which is essentially pressing charges). Ideally, if someone is pressing charges, it would be prosecuted by the Attorney General (since we don't have District Attorneys), but aiming for punishment instead of compensation definitely implies it was a criminal case.

This definitely raises a good point, and it's probably something we should explore more going forward.

Yes but it wasn’t the government sueing, thus it isn’t SimDemocracy against dick_head.
