That's actually not 100% accurate. I contacted Audeze about this a while ago, and here's what they said:
> The drivers are the same materials, both magnets and diaphragms, but the voice coils have a slightly different trace pattern on the Classics which results in the slightly different sound signature
Going by u/metal571's measurements, the emphasis seems to be on "slightly".
Just came to my mind: Are the LCD-2s that were built before the Fazors were introduced essentially the LCD-2C or did they tweak the drivers too?
they certainly tweaked their production methods to get more consistent results (this has been a problem with Audeze in the past. Not anymore).
And yes, the LCD-2C is essentially a pre-fazor LDC-2, with Nylon earcups instead of wood and the new lightweight headband.
I'm not sure about that, considering the major driver revision in 2016. I'd wager the diaphragms from the prefazor models are quite different sounding
They’re basically current LCD 2s without the razor. Iirc

Hmmm... if that is true, you could potentially 3D print your own Fazor array... Interesting. :)
Yep same everything driver wise but without the fazors
