S8 Active forced update rollback

My phone force updated last night and updated to android version 9. Any way to roll this back? I made the mistake of buying the S8 active over the S8, assuming that I would be able to root this phone like you can the regular s8.

Most annoyingly is the introduction of the chatbots into the messaging app. There is apparently no way to disable it.

You may be able to rollback with Odin, but it is likely that bootloader updates have made it impossible to downgrade on your device.

Well thats unfortunate.

I understand the need to patch security issues. I cant stand corporate shilling. The chatbots thing is infuriating. No, I do Not want to "chat" with CNN or Walgreens. If I did, I would seek them out. Pisses me off. Things like this are honestly pushing me back to a dumb phone.

Can you explain or screenshot the chatbot thing added into the messaging app? I suspect this might be your carriers doing because I don't have that and I haven't heard people mention it.

Edit: Yep that chatbot feature is added by AT&T, other carriers do not have this feature.

Yep. They did it to the S7 actives as well. Ita frustrating. I paid for my phone outright. Its mine. Yet they can screw things up any time they want and I'll be shit outta luck.
