I ruler designed me the count of Fars Shiraz to be Achaemenid in the Charlemagne start. I played him as the last descendant of Xerxes, found in Persepolis, and made a count.
It happened pure by chance, really. Somehow, without my intervention, the Abbasids, which lost Arabaia, but gained Hispania, turned Zoroastrian. Heck, at one point almost all of the muslim world returned to the one true faith. Then a Saoshyant Descendant in my family married a Sayyid and had kids. I landed him, elected him to be emperor, and here we are.
In fact, getting him elected was the hardest to do. I've recently-ish embraced Imperial government, so now I'm in the slow process of revoking all duchies, and handing them back as minor viceroyalties. Obviously, my people don't really like this, no matter how I insist that it's for the greater good.
R5: Current character is both Sayyid, a descendant of Muhammed, and Saoshyant Descendant, a descendant of the Saoshyant.
And an Achaemenid to boot, most impressive. When’s their start date?
