Should really have the same wheels, decal, colors, and paint is what he's saying. Different surrounding colors can make the trim look different. There are some optical illusions that use this effect.

Well, I don't own the same wheels and decals (painted). The wheels and body is edited so even then it would look weird.

This is probably done with alpha console so if you are on PC you could replicate it pretty easily.

Yep. Black Chakram. But I believe those too are edited in that image to look more proper 'black'.
I can't remember the origin of the image, it's a couple years old by now (prolly around the time Turbo crate was new so around march 2017).
In case anyone is wondering:
Full item setup on the left image:
Body: regular octane
Decal: Griffon (regular non painted)
Wheels: Black Dieci
Left setup is a printscreen I took before uploading this post. Previously I used another car to compare, but felt like it's better if I use similar setup to showcase the difference.
Full item setup on right image:
Body: regular octane - edited image to make it look proper 'black' painted, can't be obtained in-game
Decal: Griffon, believe it's orange painted. Looks different because you choose similar paint as primary. Still unsure if it's possible to make it look the same.
wheels: Black chakram - also edited to look more black.

Also a proper cobalt octane (all bodies?) so I can have a mirrored Americar! Crimson octane works perfectly with blue primary and white secondary. In my ideal timeline, cobalt would match the blue in the Uncle Sam topper.

Maybe allow the painted bodytype to choose which shade of X colour it'd be?
Although it could bring some complications with white/grey/black but eh... I feel like something along those lines would make most people happy at the very least.

I don't care more about the cosmetics than gameplay. The gameplay is almost perfect anyways. Only thing I wish was better was people actually knowing how to rotate and position when they get to higher champ ranks, but that's out of my control.
I almost always roll with as basic car as possible since I usually dislike having fancy cosmetics that could disturb your gameplay.
It's more that it's annoying there isn't any proper black octane car since black works great with all colours.
