Best Non-Samsung 27" 1440p 144hz VA Panel? Or IPS contrast close enough?

I just replaced an old Korean 1440p 60hz IPS display (Wasabi Mango) with a Samsung VA panel (Viotek GN27) and it's phenomenal. The contrast is just wonderful and the colors are great. I don't really even suffer from too much ghosting, but I may just not be sensitive to it. However, I'm extremely sensitive to the horizontal lines caused by the subpixel layout and the screendoor effect makes it damn near impossible to use this monitor. It also suffers from some pretty irritating brightness flickering when Freesync is enabled and the FPS fluctuates. I really just can't stand it.

I looked it up and nearly all the good VA monitors I'm finding are rebranded Samsung VA panels and they all suffer this annoying subpixel layout and flickering issues. But when I compare my current IPS display to this one I just feel like there's so much more depth to the image that I fear getting another IPS display will look just as washed out compared to the VA panel. I feel like I spoiled myself for current monitor technology and now have to choose between a beautiful image behind a screen door or a decent image that's actually clear.

Are there viable alternatives to the Samsung VA panel with my desired specs? Or do you think going with an IPS display like the Nixeus EDG27V2 will be fine, despite having half the static contrast?

The LG 32gk850g or 850f use an AU Optronics panel and are supposed to be some of the best VA monitors in terms of gaming. They are 32 inch though. I believe I've seen a review where they talk about how this monitor doesn't have that weird scanline effect.

Oh - that's great! I'm not sure about a 32inch 1440p due to the pixel density, but I'll at least give it a look and maybe check out some local stores for how it would look. Do you happen to know if AUO makes a 27" variant on that panel? I looked around and TFT says they were planning on it and another site has a Q1 2020 release date, with a Cooler Master 30" variant later this year. The 4K alternative that is available raises the price point all the way up to 2K.

Not that I am aware of. :( Someone else might know though.

Doesn't have an sRGB Emulation mode though.

The flicker, maybe, but the subpixel arrangement and fuzzy text is an inherent problem with SVA panel design AFAICT. Unless they change the panel engineering, it will be the same across all makes.
