Parents of Reddit who have two or more kids - do you regret not stopping at one kid? Why or why not?

I regret not spacing them closer together. Personally, I think you need at least two near the same age so they can go play together and leave you alone some times. Having to constantly entertain a child is absolute torture.

I grew up with one sibling, so I wanted my children to experience a similar relationship. All along I assumed I'd have two, but I actually regret stopping at four. It's cliche, but the love only multiplies and there is so much joy added with each child. There was never plenty of money and in hindsight it was so much work, but i am so happy now that I at least had the third and fourth.

So my wife and I went for the second kid and ended up having identical twin girls. We had three girls under the age of two and because of that these last couple years have been a blur. Absolutely no sleep, and lots of stress / crying. If you would have asked me up until about a couple months ago I probably would have said yes, don't do it.

Now they are just getting to the age where they can all play with each other and carry on their own little conversations. It is really special and there is a dynamic that I think is important for development (learning to share and not always being able to be the center of attention). I'm happy that things turned out the way they did but I wouldn't wish those initial couple years on anyone...

We have 3. Wish we could have had 4. My boys are close, they are 12 and 14. My daughter is 9. No friends. I wish she had a sister. No regrets other than one more would have been nice.

Why would I regret having more sacrifices to Satan?
