I’m pregnant and due any day now, so I’ve got the nesting bug pretty strongly. I’m not a minimalist, but I’ve wanted to be for about a decade. I find it so hard to let go of things, most especially sentimental items and gifts. Oh and things that “might be useful one day.” Ugh, what a clever trap.

I’ve realized lately how much TIME my husband and I spend managing our STUFF. Cleaning our stuff. Moving our stuff. Organizing our stuff. Storing our stuff. Between our stuff managing, life chores, and our toddler and soon our new baby, we have almost no time for play/pleasure. Something has to give. I realized it’s the stuff. I have to get rid of this STUFF.

I don’t have time to go through the

As the title says, I’m seeing a therapist, and there was a discrepancy between what the EOB says I owe and what she has been charging me (in-network negotiated rate with an insurance company that doesn’t pay for services until I meet my 5K deductible). I asked her about it, and it was partly explained by an accounting error (which she is willing to refund me for) and the rest was explained by the merchant fees she has passed along to me (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction).

This seems like it wouldn’t abide by an insurance contract, and honestly just seems icky. I’ve never been to a medical practitioner that charged me for their merchant fees.

Regardless, is this legal for her to be doing, and

I've been seeing a midwife practice (private practice, 2 midwives) for this pregnancy, and I'm 22 weeks along. I'm planning for a home birth in July.

I'm in the Pacific Northwest, and we're still seeing more and more COVID19 cases in my area. My husband has been working from home for 2.5 weeks now, and we've been completely isolated from even family for 2 weeks. I'm luckily not working right now, and watch my toddler full-time.

My biggest fear is contracting the virus and losing this pregnancy, so we're taking any precaution we can. We have no reason to go anywhere except very occasional pick-up orders from the grocery store. We wipe down everything that comes into our house and quara

My 20-month-old son won’t give me kisses. Dad gets kisses every night before bed. None for mom. He shakes his head and whines when I ask for a kiss. He won’t do it.

I have put my career on hold to stay at home with him. I’m still breastfeeding him night and day. I cosleep with him, while his dad sleeps alone in another room. I’ve given my damn life over to this child, but no, mama gets no kisses.

Jesus, this mothering thing is hard. Fun dad gets the glory and gets to go advance his career 5 days a week. Mom gets to be a giant walking milk bottle shell of a human.

I’m sorry, mom, for doing the same thing. For giving dad the glory while you actually raised us.

I really feel broken, y’all.

I’m mainly looking for solidarity/support/help from anyone who has been through this journey later than most.

My son was a crappy sleeper (and a high-needs baby) from the start. Never let me put him down, even when awake. We stumbled into cosleeping because I simply wasn’t sleeping more than 2-3 hours a night for the first 4 weeks of trying to get him to sleep anywhere but on me. I felt like I was going to die of sleep deprivation. We’ve been safe cosleeping this entire time.

It was a godsend at the beginning because we finally were getting some sleep. It has now turned into a bit of a lazy method. It’s what has worked, and I’ve been afraid to try anything else. He still wakes in the ni

My husband and I are nearly (finally) decided on being one-and-done. We’re starting to talk vasectomy and giving away baby items. This lifestyle suits us and we both love the image of our future with just the one kid we have,

My kid is 18 months, and so far lacks awareness of his only status. Could some of you with kids who are older share how your kid is faring with being an only? It’s the one thing I worry about, that my kid will resent me for this decision. I plan to counter that with being the best damn parent ever, but I am curious about this aspect of your experiences if you don’t mind sharing.

Edit: So many beautiful and helpful responses. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each of you who took the time to give advice/solidarity. I don’t know that I feel more decided either way, but I have new perspectives to ponder, and that helps a lot. I feel so much less alone in my struggle. I wish I could hug you all, and I wish I could find friends like you in the real world. ❤️

This turned out a bit longer than I expected it to be, but it feels good to get it out...

I had my son 14 months ago. The pregnancy was full of symptoms, none serious but all annoying (insane heartburn, a mysterious rash on my hand that still hasn’t resolved, other BS I’ve blocked from memories). The L&a

Husband and I used a coupon for $35 air duct cleaning. Seemed too good to be true, but didn’t see the harm in it. We recently purchased the home, and the previous owners used a lot of scentsy and glade plugin crap, so we’ve painted and had the carpets cleaned, and I’ve scrubbed a lot. This just seemed like one more thing I could do to help mitigate the old perfume smells.

The workers came yesterday, 20 minutes past the scheduled window of arrival, cleaned for about 20 minutes, and then the lead guy came to tell me the “bad news.” That I have construction debris in the furnace motor and ducts. He took a video (furnace is in the attic) and showed it to me of him opening the furnace and swipin

For interior wall painting, it is the preference of those helping me with the painting (for free, so grateful!) to use PPG Timeless because it covers in 1 coat vs 2 coats and they’d like to only do 1 coat. Everything I read on this sub says that two coats is better, but I can’t find an explanation of why. I’d love to understand the differences between 1 vs 2 coats. The labor is free, so obviously I’m going to bend to their wishes, but I’d like to know the possible long-term durability costs as well as aesthetic costs are of doing it their way.

Also, would love to hear any first-hand experiences with PPG Timeless.

Thanks!
