I would like to take this chance to say FUCK CLARKO for robbing this man of 100. Two 100's in one night would have been amazing.

Morghanistan#AntiAirCraftCasualty•

They had fucking four men on him in a match they were winning by about 70 points, shame Clarko, shaaaaaaame.

87
A_Pragmatic_BearBrisbane Bears•

Every time I see this mentioned the amount of men that were apparently on Fev gets upped. Give it awhile longer and people will be saying he played out the game 1 on 6. Jeeez.

34
BobblefightermanRichmond•

Hawthorn had 22 men out there forming a shell around him, evil tactics by Clarko

53
EzlotheMinishGeelong•

The origins of the web?

7
Morghanistan#AntiAirCraftCasualty•

Dont forget that Alistair Clarkson himself guernseyed up as the 7th man to stop a rampaging Fevola who had kicked 29 of his goals in that very second half.

Fev likes to joke about it now but deep down he must fucking hate Clarko. One of the biggest asshole moves in footy history.

First bloke ever stranded on 99 according to wiki, and the last time we ever saw a 100 goal season.

Yeah, fuck Clarko for that.

37
FanaticalSlothCarlton '81•

Call me petty, but this is the main reason I wouldn't Clarko as our coach. That and the time he coward punched one of our blokes in the London exhibition game.

36

Ian Aitken. He still hates Clarko.

Fuck Clarko

19

Wow he really doesn't like Carlton.

Neither does Milburn

I love Clarko but can't really argue with anyone here. Ruthlessness is one thing and you don't want to gift a dude a goal but that was just excessive.

Such a shame honestly

It was hilarious.

Clarko was gonna make sure it was only Buddy's night. But yeah that 99 broke Fev internally.

EndlessBlockaderHawthorn•

Indeed, most people who don't manage to kick 100 goals in an AFL season get so drunk their team drops them and they also lose hundreds of thousands of dollars by gambling and go bankrupt.

1
BobblefightermanRichmond•

Nonono.

Just people who kick exactly 99 goals

2
macgyverrdaWest Coast•

I love Fev but lets be honest here. If he tried as hard for the whole season as he did the last 5 minutes of that game he would have probably kicked 120 for the year.

-7†
EzlotheMinishGeelong•

How do you 'not try' your way to 99 goals? Or where those all in the last 5 mins of that game?

45
macgyverrdaWest Coast•

Fev was running around like a man possessed those last 5 minutes when he was stranded on 99. Never seen him play with that much energy in both directions in my life.

18
EzlotheMinishGeelong•

Well its not like he had a game to play next week. Its pretty unreasonable to expect a forward to run that much for a whole game let alone a whole season.

22
drunkillCarlton AFLW•

He kicked a bag in that game.

And for the season Fevola kicked 99 goals and 51 points to Buddys 102 goals 84 points.

Dangerman1967Hawthorn•

Modern skills plus a character straight outta the 70s or 80s. Footy has been a winner for his time in it. Absolute entertainment factory on field and off.

103
ValidusOrcinusRichmond•

When he was flying in his prime, he was glorious to watch and almost unplayable. An absolute character on and off the field - the game is better off for having had him around.

51
mouz-Carlton•

Watched him kick 8 in a half a couple of months ago against my local team, the kick on goal was so thumping still. Stood out so much against local level players.

42
drunkillCarlton AFLW•

JK kicked his 600th the other week. Betts is one goal away.

Fev retired half a decade ago. Ed: On 620 goals.

Imagine if we had kept them all (well, JK was an unknown back then, but the judd deal wasn't contingent on him as he was basically steak knives)

29
random555West Coast•

I think it was fairly dependent on JK. I seem to remember him saying he didn't really want to leave Carlton but didn't want to be forever referred to as the guy that stopped the Judd deal

17
drunkillCarlton AFLW•

Oh yeah, I just meant it could have been someone else traded to get the deal done, it was not dependant on him, we just offered him up.

It just happened to be him, a second year player who had played 22 games (only 5 with 10+ disposals) and kicked 11 goals and wasn't developed yet.

Here’s one question that’s been bugging me: did he really whip out his knob in front of a mum at a kids clinic? Where did that story end up?

22
iamselwoodsbandageGeelong•

No. Story is that It was the wife of a passionate Carlton supporter and the story was made up to get back at him leaving Carlton apparently. They got 15k from Channel 9 for their story allegedly.

11
liska18AFL•

Funny you mention that I was wondering the same thing! Apparently it was in the city during mad Monday ?

6
Sainters1966•

No that was when he wore a strap on dildo with his costume. The other one was at a clinic with his real dick, allegedly.

10
_OliveoylCarlton•

He was the reason for me and I'm sure a lot of Carlton supporters tuning in every week when we were absolute rubbish during the 2000's. How many is Fev gunna kick was basically why I watched. Such a massive kick of the footy as well. He'd mark it at 50 and have his set shot and kick it around 55-56 and it would still make it into the stands. I still think while Franklin is the overall better player Fevola was the better goal kicker at their peaks.

12
KingJimmy101Carlton•

Loved Brendan. He was a legend and a larrikin. Would have been awesome to se him stay at the Blues but that’s life. He looks like he has his life back on track and I wish him all the best.

Thanks for the memories Fevalenko.

I didn't have a lot of great footy memories between the ages of 7 and 14, but this man was a part of a whole bunch of them

8
gccmelbFootscray '54•

I know Blues fans that are still really shitty about him being traded out.

4
bluebagger1972•

Alastair Clarkson put four men on Fevola to stop him getting 100 goals. Clarkson also king hit Ian Aitken, Blues premiership winning centre half back to destroy his career. I hope Carlton never gets Clarkson as coach. A shit of a human being.

2
DaveM303West Coast•

He had a career?!

-4

Yeah over 600 goals before age 30, not much of a career...
