What is a post format? Aren't there just text posts and link posts?
The sub used to be text only until a post a few hours ago asking why, so the decision was apparently rapidly made to allow link posts and image posts.
Oh, thanks. I don't see how a link post is a question, therefore it's not askphotography. Seems like an obvious reason to me.
Gotta say I disagree with this. The only posts that benefit from this are "wot camera is diz" posts.
The "why have my prints/scans/negs come out like this" posts on the analog subs do too, although I'd be posting those questions there first myself.
I don’t know, that’s why I’m testing. No decision has been made either way.
I just don't see how it will help. Link posts encourage people to use a title and nothing more. It's hard enough to get information out of people as it is, when they have to use a text box.
I see your points and understand the perspective you’re coming from.
Another user questioned why post types are limited in this sub and I really didn’t have an answer, by testing what happens when I allow them next time I’ll be able to answer, we tried that but it didn’t really work.
If it ends up improving the sub then fair enough. I don’t have the foresight to just know.
I still disagree with it entirely, for the reasons stated. But it's not my sub so eh.
