Will Snowshoe WV trail conditions be rideable after this week's rain?

My brother and I might take a last second trip this weekend to snowshoe. It's raining all day today and probably some tomorrow as well.

Will the park be in decent shape by Friday? Hopefully someone on this sub has been there and knows more about the trail conditions. Thanks!

Yes. Snowshoe gets so much rain, it's built for it.

In fact even though the forecast for Saturday/Sunday is sun, I would expect some rain one of those days.

Yeah, they stay open in the rain. It rains basically all the time there. They're used to it. Watch out for those wet roots! lol. (they're everywhere...)

Can we talk about the DH track there for the UCI series? I know nothing about WV and am really curious about quality/difficulty.

Its going to be legit. Its the finals and the first time in 5 years they've been held in America!

The mid to lower section of the dh track is no joke. Superrrrr rowdy. Did it on a trail bike last year. Do not recommend

Last year we went after they hadn’t seen sun for about a month. Trails were hammered to shit compared to the same time a year before. They have been doing a ton of work tho due to the World Cup coming. I’d say you should be fine. Snowshoe is a blast! True West Virginia style is to ride that place in complete downpour conditions tho

No but I know people down there who ride and have been working there. Place has been spruced up to show off for World Cup. It’s a big deal.

Excellent, thanks for the info!

Yea might be a little muddy in spots but they dry out pretty fast. Some of the technical sections might be a little sketch in the morning if it rained the day before or overnight but after a few hours it’s usually fine.

I'm not a huge tech kinda rider. I love the flowy stuff so it sounds like we'll be alright. Thanks for the info.

Plenty of flow there, Skyline should be right up your alley. Place is a great spot, hope I get back up there sometime before the summer is over.
