Pokemon Go Fest / Safari Zone / Other Ticket Mini Events
>>>>> Pokemon GO Fest or Safari Zone <<<<<
- How do I get a ticket?
- You open your game > Settings > Press Event Ticket icon > opens your mobile browser > create a new account then register your info > Buy the ticket.
- They will notify you in game when Ticket Sales are available.
- If ticket sales are closed, you can check the Event Ticket icon everyday to see if they open sales again.
- Can I buy a ticket from Ebay or another person?
- NO!
- Niantic changed their ticket system starting with Chicago Go Fest 2019. The tickets are bind to your account and are not transferable anymore.
- To buy Go Fest access, you have to buy an account with the ticket purchased for the account. They are not cheap. I have seen them on Ebay going for $300 to $5,000. No one is stupid enough to buy these accounts.
- If you do buy an account..., you can get scammed because sellers can recover the PoGo account and Email Address after X days.
- Which ticket do I buy?
- There are two tickets you can buy "Early Access" and "Normal Start".
- Early Access costs more, but you start earlier.
- Normal Start costs less, but you start at a later time.
- This one depends on you because if you can wake up early or stay up later at night.
- My advice is you should go to bed and use a very loud alarm sound on your phone, so you can wake up for the event.
- There are two tickets you can buy "Early Access" and "Normal Start".
- Do they charge taxes and other fees?
- Yes.
- Some people were reporting their credit card was not accepted, so you might need to pay with a credit/debit card and make sure your registered account address matches your credit/debit card.
- Can I sell my ticket promo code?
- MAYBE but do it at your own risk and somewhere else. I am not responsible if they terminate your account(s) and you're charged extra fees for performing a refund.
- Can I buy a ticket promo code from another person?
- I do not know, since the Montreal 2019 event is different from the past 3 events: Chicago, Dortmund, and Yokohama. See "Can I get scammed?" below for more details.
- How do I "check in" for the event?
- If no ticket is emailed to you...
- One week or several days before the event, the event badge will pop up in your game and your ticket is now activated. You just need to spoof to your correct starting location then the Pokemon and PokeStops will start appearing in the empty park.
- If they email you a promo code (Montreal 2019) ...
- {1} To redeem ticket promo codes:
- {2} Open the Pokémon GO app then tap the Events menu button.
- {3} Open the Pokémon GO Safari Zone Montréal event page.
- {4} Look for the link to “Redeem Promo Code” and tap it to enter the code and add your ticket. To ensure a smooth check-in experience, redeem your code by 8 September. Except for child accounts, all Trainers must redeem their own code; Trainers are unable to redeem codes for Friends.
- {5} Child Accounts: When entering a promo code, parents can select the option to claim on behalf of a child and will need to enter their child’s Pokémon GO Trainer Nickname. (The parent’s game account email must match the email on file for the child’s game account.) This process can be repeated for multiple children.
- If no ticket is emailed to you...
- Can I spoof to the event without a Ticket?
- Yes, but you will not see anything in the designated event area. There will still be lures and Pokemon spawn in the surrounding areas.
- Can I spoof to the event?
- Yes.
- Is it safe to spoof to the event?
- No, it is never safe to spoof.
- Can I get a strike for spoofing to the event?
- Yes because you are still using a spoofing app.
- Can I stream to the event?
- Yes, but you need to be very careful and your trainer name cannot appear on the stream or your account will be instantly terminated/permanently banned by Niantic employees
>>>>> Other QR Code/Ticketed Events <<<<<
These are small local events in Japan or South Korea. This is completely different from the events above.
- How do I get a QR Code/Ticket for an event that is not Go Fest related?
- You have to physically be there in person to get a QR Code/Ticket for the planned event.
- You have buy a special drink from a certain store to get the ticket paper.
- You can buy it from online sites and from people.
- You have to physically be there in person to get a QR Code/Ticket for the planned event.
- Can I get scammed?
- NO if you meet someone who is 100% honest but that is extremely rare.
- YES YOU CAN!
- QR Codes can easily be created or made-up.
- People can sell you the same QR Code to multiple people.
- No way to verify the QR Code until the event starts.
- Sells for anywhere from $1 to $1,000.
- If you want to take the risks to buy it, you should only pay the amount you are willing to lose.
- If you cannot afford to lose $1, you do not buy it.
- Impossible to get a refund when the seller claims "digital item sale" or he/she can claim you are trying to scam them. PayPal, Venmo, and other money transfer companies cannot verify the authenticity of the QR Code/Ticket for Pokemon Go
- You can get scammed on Ebay too by digital item sale and auctions that end after the event date.
- Sometimes Ebay sellers get fake QR Codes from Reddit then they sell them to make a quick buck without knowing they were fake.
- Japan sites will literally ship you your QR Code/Ticket paper to you. If you are lucky, you can get the middle man company to scan the QR code then email it to you.
- How do I scan the QR Code/Ticket to check in?
- You can manually type in the QR Code 16-character text.
- You need to have the QR code on another screen or printed on paper to scan it.
- Can I spoof to these kinds of events without a QR Code/Ticket?
- You can spoof to the area, but you cannot see the special spawns (Unowns & Boosted Shiny Rates) unless you enter/scan a QR Code.
- No point in spoofing to the area.

Thanks for the summary. It’s very detailed.
But I still think people will post questions regarding to the events. Especially when the events start.
