Hire temp workers, get temp loyalty

It's unreasonable to expect anything better from temp workers. They could be replaced next week for less, they routinely are replaced for less, and they won't stick their necks out for the company no matter what sort of incentive program you implement even if their input would benefit the company, purely out of fear that it could even remotely be construed as critical of the company.

It should never surprise the company when a temp worker is all too willing to whistleblow, report to OSHA, or otherwise it shouldn't be a surprise when a company finds itself on the short end of the straw: hire temp workers, get temp loyalty.

And if you're an exec within a company that finds this surprising in any way, what exactly are you doing with your life that you're so out of touch with your own company?

They also seldom have the opportunity to learn the job with any kind of efficiency. Most companies use temp employees just because it's cheaper to not offer any type of benefits while ignoring the shortsightedness of it.

In road construction, they'll hire from temp services for flagmen to control traffic. We call them "hire-a-drunk"

100% agree.

You contact a temp agency for workers.

A temp agency makes money by employing people. There will always be crappy jobs that temps can fill.

The temp agency is NOT going to care about the quality of that worker, they are only a body, a source of income.

Not only that but companies pay top dollar for temps with no experience, loyalty, hell, you've literally never met the guy you are paying.

Wouldn't it save a lot of time, money, and headaches to fit the hiring process into 1 or 2 employees duties? Give the new hire, vetted from people who actually have to work alongside him, a full time job with benefits and a future prospect. Rather than calling some agency to throw unknown bodies at you for top dollar. It literally makes no sense unless the entire management team at a company simultaneously goes into a coma.
