What did you choose to do in "Wild at Heart"? (W3)

The Witcher 3

Spoilers ahead, and a quick summary:

This is the quest you pick up from Niellen the Hunter, in Velen. His wife's gone missing, and he asks Geralt to find her. He's hopeful she's still alive, while his sister-in-law (Margrit) fears she may have been killed in the nearby woods.

While searching for clues in the woods, you can either accept or refuse an offer from Margrit to stop your investigation and tell Niellen his wife is dead.

Assuming you continue, you eventually find out that Niellen is a werewolf, and that he goes deep into the forest when he knows a transformation's coming on so he doesn't harm anybody. Margrit admits that she loves Niellen, despite his lycanthropy, but thought her sister would never accept him if she knew the truth. Margrit claims she lured her sister to the woods one night with the hopes she'd run off upon discovering Niellen's secret, but instead, Niellen ended up killing his wife in a blind rage.

Niellen doesn't believe Margrit's story, and asks Geralt to step aside so he can get his revenge on her.

What did you guys choose to do?

I chose to intervene and save Margrit's life. I felt like she was probably telling the truth, but at the same time, she could just be lying. There's not a lot of information to go on, but I didn't feel comfortable leaving Margrit to die with so much uncertainty.

I was really on the fence on this one, and I'm curious how you guys chose to sort it out.

Told Niellen the truth, let him kill Margrit, then honored his wishes to put him down so he couldn't harm others. Didn't feel great about it, but there's no happy endings. The alternative was letting Margrit lie to him, and if you go back to the village you'll learn she's dead and Niellen vanished.

I saved Magrit too, but honestly I kind of regret it. Might go back and play that quest on my second playthrough to switch things up. Margrit was 100% in the wrong, I just didn’t want Niellen to keep endangering people. But I’ll probably make the opposite decision next time.

This is one of those quest where you can have no real happy ending. I thought if I just keep quiet about Margrit's sister there is some sort of happy ending, bu even then Niellen kills her...

i chose to let her die, she was too shady the whole time. Plus killing the bloke is a better way to toture the sheila but it ain't helping Nielen. I would rather help him seek his vengeance and death. also the first time i did it actually chose to tell him, but the sheila was soooo shady, so i tried the other one

I let Niellen kill her, and then honoured his wishes to finish him off.

Too bad that she's immortal. I soon moved on to start the Kiera Metz quest, and who should appear amongst the peasants, but Margrit, alive and well. All the way down to the freckles.

Immortal bitch.
