TL;DR Can you react to all incoming attacks, or are some too fast to react to?

I beat the Main Quest recently and I've started fighting all the optional High Rank monsters. I've also started going on Multiplayer hunts, after playing most of the game solo. However, I felt like I was spending too much time running from the monsters and using healing items when I should be in the monster's face, helping my team do damage.

I looked for advice online, and saw that people suggested going back to Solo mode to learn every monster's attack pattern. Since I needed Black Diablos' horns for several pieces of equipment, I decided to switch to Hammer and start with her.

Specifically, as Leon? (Although I'm curious about your Claire strats, too)

I've played through the game several times and I've always just avoided Lickers. However, I was playing as Leon yesterday (Hardcore Mode, 1st run), and I ran into the two that spawn in the "Lounge" in Laboratory B2 (the room with no electricity and the helix statue, where you have to solve the MURF puzzle to restore power to the Low-Temp Testing Lab to freeze the Plant 43 solution).

Normally, I'd kill all the zombies before the lickers spawn and just saunter past them, but I forgot to this time, and I realized that I had no idea how to kill them efficiently.

I spent the next 20 minutes trying out different weapons

Spoilers ahead, and a quick summary:

This is the quest you pick up from Niellen the Hunter, in Velen. His wife's gone missing, and he asks Geralt to find her. He's hopeful she's still alive, while his sister-in-law (Margrit) fears she may have been killed in the nearby woods.

While searching for clues in the woods, you can either accept or refuse an offer from Margrit to stop your investigation and tell Niellen his wife is dead.

Assuming you continue, you eventually find out that Niellen is a werewolf, and that he goes deep into the forest when he knows a transformation's coming on so he doesn't harm anybody. Margrit admits that she loves Niellen, despite his lycanthropy, but thought her

Curious if you guys had any boss fights or enemy types you found frustrating?

For me, it's a toss-up between Sirens and Arachnomorphs.

Never ran into any issue with harpies in Velen, but I had a ton of trouble fighting sirens on cliffs and uneven ground in Skellige (especially on The Path of Warriors). Even when I managed to get them with a crossbow bolt or Aard, they'd often fall off a cliff or on another platform I couldn't jump to (since I was in combat).

Fighting arachnomorphs in Hearts of Stone was tricky too, especially on open ground. After riding the struggle bus through my first few fights, I switched out my heavy armor for light armor, chugged a Tawny Owl at the start of every c

In high school, we learned that the Italian city-states (Florence, Genoa, Venice, etc.) were relatively small, but they became wealthy through trade and commerce. We also learned about taxes that were levied on land during the Middle Ages, but I don't remember learning about any other types of taxes.

Were merchants and craftsmen in the Italian city-states subject to taxes on their income or goods? Or were they only taxed on the land they owned?
