That was the hardest last boss I've ever played in my life

SpoilerLate Spoilers (Ch 4+)

I've been gaming since NES and MSDOS. Holy shit what a climb this boss was. It became an obsession more than anything. I thought after the Direwolf that nothing would be able to push my team around. Boy was I wrong. Galdera was on an absurdly high plane compared to anything the rest of the game suggested, and it's not like a bunch of grinding was the remedy either. It took me about 20 hours once I first entered Gate of Finis. I'm glad I didn't look up someone else's build and copy it (and I'm really glad I didn't delete my save file and quit the game like I was tempted at one point). I did resort to the internet for some tips though. I doubt I'd have figured out the Tressa Runelord Sidestep combo on my own, which I was reluctant to do because dammit I liked H'aanit as my Runelord! Had to completely shift my team around, changing jobs and character combinations, and I think that was the real challenge. It's easy throughout the game to get attached to the synergies of the builds you prefer, but that goes out the window with Galdera. There's a lot of trial and error just getting into the various phases of the fight and learning how it morphs. In the end you have to account for every last thing this bastard does, even if you sometimes manage to blast past phases with a couple really hard hits. It's a marathon. It felt so good to deliver what I knew would be the killing blow with a Winnehild's Battle Cry from Olberic.

It was kinda weird that they treated this boss almost as an Easter Egg. You follow two obscure quest lines, and there's no dialog from the characters once the "grand conspiracy" all comes together. As Lyblac's plot affects all 8 of your characters, you'd think they'd have some lines once they figure it out. Idk whatever. You just have to use your imagination. Awesome game. I'm definitely ready for a break from it. Just in time for Borderlands 3!
