Dr. Jordan Peterson's goal is to strengthen the individual. The hero's journey justifies the burden of being by pursuing truth, making order out of chaos. The alternative is deceiving yourself with ideology and nihilism. So, take yourself seriously, know the monster within you, and become a responsible person with an integrated character.

It's funny that he thinks it's positive. "Making order from chaos" is literally deceiving yourself.
Which "barren" subreddit is this? Do you just mean the main Peterson subreddit r/JordanPeterson? Because this is the blurb that heads the description on the right sidebar of that subreddit! I guess you meant intellectually barren? It seems worthwhile to clarify that, since it is significant that this description in an offiicial one for the main subreddit which is the opposite of barren when it comes to quantity if not quality.
I didn't link as I didn't want to be accused of encouraging a raid/harassment. It's not the r/jordanpeterson sub and I hadn't realised that it was a carbon copy of that sidebar. It's a literally empty subreddit named after Peterson.
Truth as an ideal is, well, an ideology.
