Allen Edmonds seconds also 20% off via ShoeBank
Camo Higgins Mill for $115. Couldn’t help myself. Going to try to dye the camo dark brown.
Lots of good stuff for $200 and under.

Really interested to hear how the dyeing goes!
Are you dying to hear about it?
I’m higgin on the edge of my seat
Any recommendations between something from here or iron rangers/some other red wings? I was gunna get a pair of IRs for a good price but I went to the store today to try on a pair and i don't think they would be good for work. They were real heavy and the guy at the store told me they are prob not great for wearing all day. Especially with the breaking in period. I work in an office but can go casual and I like the look of IRs and wanted something more durable for the winter. I commute in NYC so the weather can get shitty but I am not walking outside too much so I don't need anything heavy duty. I live close to an AE store, might check them out in person but want to hear opinions
Their Higgins Mill is very versatile and amazingly comfortable. Note that some of them on ShoeBank are tumbled leather, some aren’t. So just make sure to ask if you call.
I’m surprised that a Red Wing employee told you that about IRs. I picked up a pair this spring on sale and like them a lot. For me the break in hasn’t been bad, and I’ve worn them all day, but YMMV. Good socks are key.
AE’s will definitely be more comfortable out of the box. There are lots of boots online right now. You want to look for Dainite and commando soles for winter and avoid leather soles and their feather welt line for winter.
I’m not sure if their weatherproof line is on ShoeBank yet but that’s worth a look as well.
thanks for the response. Yeah i was a little taken back by the employee talking down the product lol. Im not too worried about breaking them in, more about all day comfort and also winter/rain/nyc commute. I am going to the AE store tomorrow and try a few pairs out
Would you recommend the Higgins Mill or the Daltons? I’m interested in the Daltons mainly due to the brogueing. I recently bought a pair of RW Blacksmiths in the Copper color (3343), so I’m looking for something with a different look to it. Also, if I do get the Daltons, would you recommend the coffee or dark chili color?
I've got three pairs of the Daltons; i'd recommend the Higgins Mill just because I can't help but think they're more comfortable. My Daltons are noisy as shit and never really feel like they've been broken in, despite wearing them in heavy rotation and appropriate upkeep.
If you get the Daltons, the dark chili color is infinitely better and more interesting than the coffee.
ETA: If you get the Daltons, i'd recommend splurging for the Dainite sole. I think that'd go a long way towards making them more functional.

Have you tried baby powder or leather conditioner on the tongue and backside of the uppers that the tongue comes in contact with? That's generally where the noisiness comes from, although it may not go away if they're still squeaking after heavy wear.
I have both! Totally different looks so it really depends on what you’re going for.
I personally think chili is a little more versatile.
Thanks for the reply. I primarily wear earth tones (I dress smart casual most of the time and very rarely business formal) and neutrals. In what instances would the chili be more versatile and how would the looks differ?
How about the Captain from Thursdays? I bought mine this weekend and it’s much better in quality than I realized
shit those are nice. Do you know how well they hold up in rain/snow?
Do some research before pulling the trigger on Captains, I don't own a pair but have heard it's 50/50 on quality. I can speak for 1000 miles and they're great.
I wore them all day Sunday and Monday. It rained hard today while I had to walk to and from school. My feet were not wet at nor damp. I even stepped into puddles. They are water resistant according to their site
I'm with you on the IR's and office work. I've got a pair, and I love them, but could never see wearing them in to my office.
And now their site works and no longer shows an expired security certificate!
It has had that expired certificate for over 6 months.
How do you get the 20% off? You can’t order direct, so there’s no auto addition of the discount and it’s showing me retail prices.
Tryna cop some oxblood McAllister’s, so any help is appreciated!
Coming from a guy who has ordered 5+ pairs of seconds, I promise it’s not harder than just calling the store and mentioning the promo.
I read that as you ordering more than five pairs a second at first lol.
Awesome, thanks!!
I plan on visiting a store near me this weekend. Do you think they’d apply the discount if I went in person, or is this an online only sort of deal?
The 20% off seconds is valid in-store at any of the outlet stores (there's 7 of them, listed on the ShoeBank website
Thank you, I appreciate the response. :)

Call and give them the part number, and ask if seems fucked up.
I’m digging the Daltons, but they’re only available with the leather soles, no dainite
You can always put a half sole on.
Scored another pair of Verona II
Going to collect these guys in every color
Did you end up doing this? How did it turn out?
Not yet. :)
Ok. I am interested in how it turns out! Post when you are done to share! Good luck
But still, unless you can go to the store I'm assuming there's no way to purchase these shoes online.
Edit: downvotes when it wasn't at all intuitive that calling the store for an order was an option? Most places don't do that.
You can call them.
Thanks, this was a huge tip. Snagged some dark chili park aves for $200!
Beware restocking fees my homies
IIRC I think you can avoid the restocking fee if you return them in person to a local store instead of shipping them back.
I don't think that's true for seconds... could be wrong. Definitely true for just clearance shoes, though.
Unfortunately you're still charged for it in store.
