Extruder/X-Axis hitching on something causing lines

I recently installed a glass bed and some yellow springs, and when I did my first leveling test, I noticed my Extruder is hitching on something when it's moving along the x-axis. It noticeably catches onto something a few times when I slowly move the extruder across the x-axis. Any ideas on what this could be caused by?

This is what it's causing on my prints:

Your extruder doesn't move, I believe you're describing the Z-carriage hotend assembly, maybe?

Check your belt tension. It may be completely unrelated to your bed swap. Nothing about swapping beds should upset your extruder / hotend. Might be coincidence. Check the whole Z-carriage and the belt....

or I could totally be misunderstanding what you are describing....

Good luck and happy printing!

This was it! I followed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPAs-DzgOWM to tighten the belt and it resolved the problem. Thanks a ton.

Your belts need to be tightened. Make sure nothing is hitting your bed clips.

I had the exact same problem, solved by doing this.

Same, the belt should be like a banjo spring.

The belt tension was definitely the issue. Thanks!

That's an odd one. If the glitches were evenly spaced, it would be a lot easier to diagnose. Perhaps it's just the perspective in that pic, but the glitch points don't seem to be equidistant from each other.

It's not a belt problem because you're moving the hotend carriage by hand, right?

If the carriage always hitches at one particular spot, try checking the slots and the rollers at that exact spot for debris. Also, since you just fiddled with the bed, you may as well look under it for some kind of impingement at that same spot.

If I had to take a guess, possibly a wild one, I'll say that you have a bad bearing in one of the hotend carriage's rollers, probably the bottom one. A bad bearing can cause a roller to... pause... before rolling again.
