how little it takes to be banned from HN these days.

That's nothing, I put in a request on r/windows10 for Windows 10 to show me ads on the boot screen and that was enough to get me shadowbanned from creating topics. A suggestion like that doesn't break any rules, maybe they're going to steal my idea and not give me credit.
Either way, when I say that I want them to put ads on the boot screen, I am 100% genuinely serious. It should nag me to go get a Pepsi or buy some hot new game or whatever while Windows is starting up. They already put ads in the start menu and on the lock screen, so why the hell not?
I have not seen any ads on my lock screen. Is it a home vs pro thing?
More like a regional thing i suspect. And from what i can tell, it is mostly a text add in the corner.

Damnit with those acronyms. Not everyone here is a trendy 13 year old to know all the new cool slangs, so it would be nice if you would explain the context of this post and what "HN" is.
I wish I was 13, unfortunately I'm 43...
HN is hacker news, the news aggregator by Ycombinator
Oh yes, thanks. Well I dont know why you got banned, it seemed to be like a pretty good place to discuss things with a little bit of a conspiracy twist on it, and definitely a lot of technical stuff . I have seen a lot of downvoted stuff there but not a lot of banned people.
Looks like we really need a libre blockchain type alternative to discuss our ideas, because it's annoying that you always get banned for just voicing your opinions. Downvoting is good but banning is not.
It's not my account, a friend sent the screenshots to me.
What is strange, he says, is that he never received a warning before and his posts were receiving slightly positive votes (minor appreciation, in the range +10,+20).
After he posted about Googlers involvement (he says) they banned him and his posts appeared as dead (can confirm, his latest posts appear dead)
The things he was writing about seemed reasonable to me, not too political in general, of course it's hard to talk about Stallaman without being a bit political, it's the core of the issue.
I started commenting again on Reddit after the Stallaman incident, I stopped a few years ago and now usually browse news sites anonymously (including HN) and don't engage anymore in the comments section.
What involvement?
Wasn't he banned because he tried to defend Stallman's weirder views like the screenshot suggests? Not the entire conversation is visible so I can only say about what I see.
Dang is highly trigger happy for anything that does not line up perfectly with the Silicon Valley social consensus.
Been at the receiving end of that myself in the past (not to the point of a ban, but i got slapped with a comment throttle).
