I haven't played a fire emblem game in over a decade (I'm old) and literally everytime I have heard someone talk about this game I have been thrown off because I legit thought everyone was calling one of the houses "anal guard". This is not a word that benefits from being said quickly.

Honestly I was in the same boat as Vish, if you're not into Fire Emblem you wont be expecting the name Edelgard. I certainly heard analguard and thought Toph was messing with Vish at first. This was so great though.

well if you know who adelgard is its easy to hear.
i had never even heard that name before in my life. and i clearly heard "analguard" until he actually spelled the name. after that, i heard adelgard
phonetically N and D are actually fairly close, so its an understandable mixup. adelgard just sounds a lot like analguard

So in fire Emblem: three houses, the latest entry in the series for switch that came out in July, it takes place at this hogwarts-like school for future knights. In the game there’s three houses that students can belong to. Toph gets all their names wrong.
btw, all of this is in good fun, I fucking love Toph and hearing him trying to explain a game he hasn't played to someone who has even less of a clue of what's going on is icing on the cake
Edit: also, I’ve only seen this clip and not the vod it belongs to, so there’s a high chance toph days some more hilariously inaccurate stuff beyond these. I love this clip though because the inaccuracies just hit one after another like bam bam bam
