Hey, it's me, ya boi
Hey all of r/heroin
You may not know who I am, and I may not know who you are. Big world we live in and all.
I'm u/StuffWithWords, and I'll be your friendly neighborhood moderator for the near future. Chase and I work together over on r/opiates.
If you didn't know, spin was banned last week:
We have some bad news.
Spin was banned last week for using an alt to comment in a sub she was banned from. I do not know the context beyond that.
It does not seem she will be returning.
This is a huge loss to this sub and to the many communities she moderated. She was one of the most active moderators on this sub, and I wouldn't be surprised if this extended to the other subs she helped with. She was a moderator here for years, and she is a huge and active proponent of harm reduction. She helped save the lives of many in this sub, and I can't even imagine how many from her numerous other subreddits.
Personally, she was one that helped guide me the most during my first months here. She has one of the coolest heads I know, and there was never a situation in which she didn't have a solution. She kept so many subs alive through ensuring that the admins didn't swoop in and ban them like they have so many, and she was a main source of wisdom for the new mods that would come to help her grow and sustain those life-saving subreddits. She was the Eden to so many communities--communities surrounded by the darkness of insatiable addiction--that needed life the most.
Let us all wish her the best. She has done her part for so many. She has given so many hundreds of hours, has dealt with so much harassment, and has sought to ensure the safety of thousands of internet strangers--all to the betterment of us. The ones that society likes to throw away and ignore.
I sincerely hope she is able to use this new-found time to enjoy herself and find the unending happiness that she truly deserves.
If you're reading this, spin, thank you. Thank you so fucking much. I and your many communities are forever indebted to your amazing acts of altruism.
Because of all this, chase has asked me to help out with moderating while things are figured out within the many reddit drug communities that spin helped with.
I will not be making any new rules (cough dopeporn cough), nor will I be getting rid of any present ones. This sub and its rules will remain as intended, and I plan to enforce them as such.
If you see anything in particular you want addressed, or you think I need to change what I'm doing, please feel free to send me a message and let me know! I'm new 'round these parts, so I'm open to feedback!
Anyway, I just wanted to announce my presence. If you see me around, say hi! I'll say hi back :)
Sincerely,
StuffedWithLove

I think its common knowledge that addiction is a disease at this point...even the boomers and normalFags cant deny this
