MoveOn.org recommened that we get in touch with our local Indivisible offices. These guys have the countrywide connections that we want. Now, we'll still need reddit outreach but I expect some changes to come if Indivisible joins us. I've already contacted everyone in my area and I suggest you do the same. Thanks!

We will be filling out permit applications for locations and we will not be protesting at stores. This is a peaceful, legal protest. We do not want to bait Fox News and their false propaganda narrative.

Hello all!

There have been complaints for months, if not years, that Americans are not taking to the streets like people in Hong Kong or European countries. While we are extremely vocal in our technological connections the old hat of the world still views much of life through the TV.

These peaceful protests are to be nationwide in the largest cities that are of ease to your transportation. Not everyone can fly to DC so that should not be expected. The desire is to have this peaceful protest day the major news story of the holiday vacation.

We all want Trump gone now but this is being prepared and planned in anticipation that he might still be in Office by Thanksgiving. Keep in mind the effect of the Area 51 Raid on how it built international interest the more and more people talked about it. That's what we want to do... keep talking about it. The Republicans remain silent in their support for Trump so it is high time we got loud about our disapproval of Trump.

But, it is important that these are peaceful protests that are approved by the city. Someone from each city will need to take point and apply for the protest for location, time, etc. We have two months to organize this and I believe we can do this together to send a message to Washington DC that it has been three fucking years of this nonstop nonsense coming from Traitor Trump.

Don't get discouraged. We are in our first week of organizing this protest and I think it's progressing fucking swell!
My simplest desire is to unite our nation on one day to loudly protest against the failing Trump administration.
This is the main subreddit where most information will be dispensed. Sister subreddits are to reduce the clutter and keep people in your location updated on events and schedules that are not related to this main sub. Only one sister subreddit per city. We want Trump out of office as soon as possible but with McConnell running his re-election campaign to keep Trump in office we need to prepare this protest for the eventuality that Trump will still be there.
It might be one day but it's the day we are going to unite to send a message that we are united in removing Trump and his Republican enablers out of office.
Protest Black Friday sales but don't be militant about it. It sucks being poor and some people need to save a buck when they can.
Sister Subs are information hubs for planning and staging their city protest. Things that you should post are updates about securing a place and time to protest, online activism to inform the greater population and weekly letters to the editor and tv stations about this upcoming protest. To help me keep organized I may need to remove this announcement and replace it with a new one to remove comments. There's just... a lot for me to filter through and clarity is key.

The plan is to make a noticable dip in sales of everything. Pack your lunch, don't shop out. Bring a few prepackaged snacks for people who didn't. (Granola bars, jerky, and cheese blocks are good ideas.)
don't harass anyone. We want to be noticed as people fighting for change and sending a message, not the crazy asshole yelling at clouds and blocking the pathway into a store
some employees have no choice. Dont be rude to them. A paycheck may be the only thing keeping their kids alive, dont harass them for doing their job. Let them know why you're there and dont make their job harder if you can help it
Clean up after yourself. Any trash behind will be photographed and used against you and your cause. Plus it's bad for the environment.
