A writeup and a talk about how the Linux kernel does function hooking

This talk on how ftrace works in the Linux kernel is great. I considered a more basic system like this for my kernel, but eventually scrapped it, thinking it was too crazy and that no one would ever design a system like that...

There are some really cool tricks in here that allow every function in the kernel to be hooked into, without adding performance overhead when it's not in use.
