This is best of mirror lenses, it beats canon, nikon and sigma offers, only one it loses is Carl Zeiss one... which costs about 1000£ used.
I have one with canon adapter. Haven't shot much with it in film just with digital. Need to test it with film too. Little scared about focus, I might get magnifier.
I am impressed with its results, even shooting on old Kodak Max. I figured it was a good lens because they sell for roughly $100. And that seems to be true.
I managed to get my focus right on most of the shots, it wasn't too tough just eyeballing it. But I didn't get my exposure times right on most. Didn't account for the Pentax's shutter shake and the wind. Too much motion blur at 1/60. Still got some good ones though :D
The adapt-all is really interesting, I think I'll get a canon fd and ef mount so I can integrate this into my A1/6D kit
Recently found this Pentax KM body and Tamron SP 500mm mirror lens at a sale for $20! Ive been itching to take some fall pics so I hit my favorite spot in the park with my new kit. 500mm is quite a throw so I took a lot of macro shots of the dying leaves. But also got some ultra long distance shots of changing trees, as setup in the pic. Im scanning my film in tonight, so I'm very excited to see the results of this super tube!
Any thoughts, comments, or tips on mirror lenses? This one's my first and only.
They tend to be slow and have weird donut bokeh. Otherwise, they're light weight and reasonably cheap. Definitely a fun long lens option, particularly if you're going for a light kit.
Weird donut bokeh is right!
That's rad as hell
