Hey yall any ideas on what to work on here? My US 2010 SEL with about 120k miles has started making a groaning sound while I turn the wheels when it's cold. It happens while I'm driving and while in park. Once the engine is fully warmed up though, the sound goes away. So I don't think it is a bearing issue?

Google said my power steering fluid could be low? The car hasn't been maintained very well until I got it about a year ago. Since then I've replaced plugs brakes and tires.

Anybody have any experience or advice dealing with wheel sensor / speedometer failure in the 08-10 Focus?

Speedometer in my 08 Focus SE started going unresponsive, and earlier this week the speedometer stopped working entirely. Last night I had a long drive back from work, and the tire pressure gauge signalled gauge failure halfway. When I got off the highway and rolled up to a light, I could not miss a horrible screeching sound tied to the rotation of the wheels. The pressure gauge failure went away once I slowed to city speeds.

I suspect there is a dislodged sensor in one of the wheels that is now grinding against something? My first step is I am going to remove the front drivers wheel

*Edit: Case closed thanks to PhotoJim99, the disc is simply blank and I didn't know about the recording lock switch.

Anybody had any trouble with newly released minidiscs? I just got the Tobacco Maniac Meat reissue and it won't play in my MZ-n505 R. My other discs play just fine, so I doubt it's the player. But it could be a setting problem maybe? I've had other MDs not play in other players because of no LP mode support, but the MZ-n505 doesn't have that problem with its SP, LP, & LP2.

I've already contacted customer support about it, but thought I'd ask here too.

Hello friends, I have encountered a strange issue on a couple old electronics that I can't figure out and can't find anything on. It occurs on two separate devices that share a common design: sound production, amplification, and speaker output in the same box.

The problem? A horrible feedback squeal controlled by the Master Volume on both devices

The devices? An Omnichord OM36 and a Realistic Microcassette Recorder.

My hypothesis? Broken joint or component that is shorting the output creating a loop. However I have already tried tracing and reflowing suspect joints along the signal path. On the Omnichord the problem appeared fixed but returned.

Spent the last few hours on the roller coaster of a lifetime. Found a craigslist ad for a $1000 Yamaha CS-80. Powered up but no audio output. Lined the deal up with the seller, we were going to meet after their work. Turns out, a relative of the seller mentioned it to a friend, who then immediately bought it. Of course, neither of them knew about the deal that was set up. And just like that, the dream slipped right through my fingers.

Any of you know good places to source replacement belts for stereo decks, walkmen, and so on? I've gotten so many tape players over the years with rotten belts. Most of them are nice and definitely worth fixing, but I don't know any place to get reliable replacements. Especially since the original is often missing and I can't find what length to get. Or I need 2-3 different ones for one unit. Any of you use those belt variety grab bags? They are pretty tempting for belts vs price. Thanks in advance
