Inward Facing Rear Seats?

I have a question about the functionality and maybe even the legality of ripping out the stock rear seat and putting 2 inward facing seats in the back of my 2 door '95 YJ. I'm trying to conserve space and make it easier to access the rear seats from the back. Is this something anybody has seen or possibly done themselves? Most importantly I want to keep it road legal

I had a Toyota Land Cruiser (FJ-40) that was like this. No reason why it shouldn't still be legal to do, so long as it has seat-belts.

Would be like the old Nissan Patrols or FJ40s pr Defenders. Would work, but any front or rear collision accident over maybe 30 would probably result in injuries like whiplash.

Fine if you are going 15mph on a trail or dirt road.

Rear passengers had better be short though.

Why not just a rear facing bench seat directly behind the front seats you get to through the rear?
