33 R4R - Night owl looking for friends to talk to
Hi! My nocturnal schedule can make it hard to find people to talk to, but there's a lot of time overnight to while away. Hopefully I'm not the only late night lurker who'd like some conversation.
I'm into most any type of gaming, reading(mostly fantasy and sci-fi), and writing(mostly the same). I've been spending the last few years doing a lot of navel-gazing, and among other things it's gotten me really philosophical, so if that form of mental masturbation is something you're into, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
If you're not into any of those things, that's cool too! Tell me what you are passionate about. I want to hear what interests you, what gets you excited. Tell me what you like about your hobbies, your life, that book you read last week, the movie poster you walked past today - I like learning new things, and today I'd like to learn about you!

Which fantasy authors are you into? I haven’t been reading much lately but I was obsessed with Malazan Book of the fallen for many years.
Some of my favorites have included Mercedes Lackey, Jennifer Roberson, Spider Robinson, Tanya Huff, Neal Stephenson. I always enjoy new suggestions though, I don't think I've heard of Malazan before.
It’s a big time investment. Steven Erikson and Ian Esslemont both write books in the series. I used to have a lot of free time at work so I’d go out of my way to find books with tons of pages or long series like Malazan or Wheel of Time, LoTR etc.
Oof. I've always had a problem getting into books quite that heavy. The writing always seems to become as dense as the book.
So you just like to stay up late or work nights like I do?
