Made the trip back to Toronto to retake some shots from Polson Pier using some of the advice from you helpful folks. Sony a6500 with Sigma 16mm 1.4f. 6 Second exposure at F4.0 ISO100. Some editing in Lightroom. Thankfully I remembered to turn off Steady Shot so hopefully you guys think this image is a bit sharper than my last one. Thanks for looking!
Yeah, I think that's due to the lens distortion. I used Lightroom to correct it so I'm gonna have to pay attention to that more when editing in the future. I've read that image stabilization can affect sharpness when the camera is on a tripod so I just turned it off this time. This pic is definitely alot sharper than the one I took last time but there could be a few factors affecting that. ISO, F Stop and shutter speed are all different than the last time I was there.
Definitely turned out way better. Those settings gave you an extra 1/3 stop, but at half the iso you have way less noise and better contrast, and a sharper image since that lens is best at 4/5.6link.

Looks good. Just wondering why the reflections in the water point away from the camera, is that just a bit or lens distortion?
I have the same combo and I’m going to use it for some astro next year,
SSSteady Shot really impacts sharpness with longer exposures?Yeah, I think that's due to the lens distortion.
