why continue to answer obvious trolls stating that they are indeed obvious trolls?

since the mods do fuck all, i think people often want to let off their frustrations. yeah they're goaded into it, but sometimes it's cathartic. also, maybe I'm reading too much into it, but even if you're not changing the troll, you provide an alternative for someone else who might be reading the comments.
