Zephyr Valve?

Has anyone with emphysema-type COPD had the new Zephyr bronchial valves installed? It sounds quite intriguing. I would love to be off oxygen, but it seems there is a very specific subset of patients that can use them.

I am starting the process of being tested for the Valves. It seems that many experience substantial relief after getting them. I would recommend a group on Facebook called, Lung Valves for friends, I have gotten lots of good information both pro and con 9it does not always work , sometimes people die. There are lots of decisions to be made

My mom had it done this summer. She did have a collapsed lung and spent 10 days in the hospital, but they have been successful and improved her lung function quite a bit. Unfortunately, she contracted a superbug while in the hospital, so she still hasn't seen the full effect from them yet. But it's exciting to be able to hear her sing again!

Thanks! I hope she recovers quickly.

Thank you! Superbugs take awhile to recover from, but we all know she's better from the valves.

definitely interested. But also willing to wait for the longer-term effects to play out a bit.

I did see a study on 10-year follow up. I think in Europe, where it has been used for some time. The TL;DR was effective and safe.
