Terraform and iLO/iDRAC

Wayfair famously forecast their delivery of Terraform Providers for iLO and iDrac as par of their 'Argo' project almost a year ago:

Has anyone seen beta code? Is there any news?

.. is there anything else out there that will let us provision bare metal (bear mettle) with just a TF page? That's the glue I'm needing today.

yes, u/st33l-rain is right. Digital Rebar Platform (by RackN) is API driven provisioning that has integrations for HP, Dell and other hardware BMC.

You can then use the TF provider for DRP to drive the system if you want. You may find that just using the DRP APIs and workflows is sufficient,

I'm actually reading about Digital Rebar in another window! It's good to know I'm on the best route if the right route has somehow disappeared.

I'd love to know how far Wayfair got in their setup before giving up and - apparently - killing the repo.

Thanks for the detail around DRP. It's a huge help.

Thanks!

Managing BMC systems is tricky and constantly surprising (in a bad way). DRP does a lot of the management in-band using the vendor tools. It's one of the reasons that it does not actually require BMC at all and can be used on cloud VMs and servers w/o out-of-band management.
