What Season 8 did to me.
Oh the plans we had for the final season. I spent way too much time on a death pool for all of our friends, with points for correct guesses on those that died and those we wouldn't see and those very few characters that would make it to the end. With that effort, we also found a large cork board and painted it and using too much time and effort made an iron throne out of plastic knives so we could get the proper melty look. We added 45 pictures of the characters, cut out and glued to a popsicle stick in turn glued to a votive candle. Our plan was simple, when a character died, we'd light the candle and it would burn their photo. We got even more clever and revised our plan, we'd just note the time each character died and light each candle according to the list for the season and film it and speed it up to create a super cool reminder of the carnage.
We did none of that. We took the board and put it in the basement. Eventually I moved it outside near our firepit to burn it, but I didn't get around to that either. Then the dogs knocked it over and I spent a day cleaning up dog vomit with wax in it. So I picked up all the trash and finally put it in the fire and threw a cup of diesel on it and let it go. I was going to film that but said 'why bother'.
Thanks Season 8 for reminding that love can die of apathy.
tl;dr I made a thing to celebrate the season and ended up burning it after nearly a year because my dogs were eating it.

I was sold the second I read dog vomit. I was throwing likes at the screen by the diesel part.
