USG DHCP Failover
I'm looking for options on how to accomplish what I want.
I have a Windows DC acting as DHCP server on my local net and a USG as the gateway. Is there any way that I can configure things so that if the DC isn't available to fill DHCP requests, the USG can without double-booking any IPs when the DC comes back up?

Setting up another DC with redundancy would be the best option. But you could accomplish this by splitting your DHCP scope, have the DC setup to give out half the range and USG give out the other half. It becomes a race condition to clients but if one stops the other will keep giving out addresses.
I have another DC, but only one VM host.
This is more or less what I was expecting, but was hoping that there might be a method that I'm not aware of for the USG to communicate what leases it had established.
Not with Windows. If the other host was running ISC dhcpd you’d have some options to hack that in.
But I think the biggest issue there is a single VM host is a single point of failure for your entire AD. I’d get a second VM host and move one of the DCs to it and run DHCP server on both.
I know :/
Windows DHCP failover is hot mess anyways. Do yourself a favor and just let the router handle DHCP.
