I'm buying a house, and pulled the trigger before verifying ISP availability. I know of others in the neighborhood with AT&T FTTP service, so assumed it wouldn't be an issue.

Front line sales tells me that I can get 768k DSL, that's it. I'm willing to pay for running fiber into the prem if it is available at the curb or similar, but nobody I can reach on the phone seems to know who to let me talk to to investigate this.

I'm hoping that someone here can put me in touch with someone, or point me in the right direction.

Edit: Location is in Nashville, TN. Yes, I know this will be very expensive.

Edit2: I was sent this link, seems relevant for whoever finds this thread in the future. -&g

I'm purchasing a house in the immediate future. I pulled a dumbass and assumed that because other people I knew in that neighborhood at FTTP service (AT&T), I would be able to get it as well, but I'm being told by frontline sales that they can't even get me DSL service, much less fiber.

I've heard of people paying out to get new fiber trenched and put in, but I've never been in the position to investigate anything out of the ordinary with ISP installations. Does anyone have a clue who I need to talk to or ask for?

Edit: Location in Nashville, TN, fwiw.

It isn't worth it. Not ever. No matter how much you love the franchise - no, especially if you love the franchise. Don't take time off work to watch damned reveal trailers; hell, don't even watch the pre-alpha reveal. Don't obsess about launch dates, or what drip-fed info is revealed over time.

You will only ever be disappointed by hyped games, and the degree of your disappointment is directly proportional to how much you bought the hype.

The BG series are my favorite games of all time. I'm excited about BG3, but I'm not expecting it to be anything that it isn't. Neither should you.

I'm looking for options on how to accomplish what I want.

I have a Windows DC acting as DHCP server on my local net and a USG as the gateway. Is there any way that I can configure things so that if the DC isn't available to fill DHCP requests, the USG can without double-booking any IPs when the DC comes back up?

I've seen this come up a bunch. The Rosewill 'compatible' rail kit is absolute garbage.

The Silverstone RMS03-24 kit seem to work great and are reasonably high quality - with the caveat that the placement is not perfect, it is offset by one hole, just like the Rosewill rails unless you pull some jank.

That said, I'm fairly certain that many OEM enterprise rails will fit just fine. The only ones that I've tried to fit were dell rails that turned out to not have removable inners, so that was a non-starter. Don't be afraid to experiment if you have access to HQ rails.

tl;dr. Gaming VM, trying to pull weird shit as usual.

I'm working on a new x570/3900x build. My original plan was to just boot windows, but circumstances have changed and I need to virtualize the user-facing OS. I was using 2x 1TB NVME in raid0, and I was hoping that it would be somewhere close to pointing the vdisks to both block devices or passing the pci devices through and letting it sort itself out, but no joy so far.

Is there any other good way to pass this storage through as a single large volume? mdadm doesn't seem to be available on this platform. I don't want to use it as unraid cache, and even if I did, I don't think I could pass through a >1TB volume because of the way that

I'd like to find someone willing to take a commission for one of these over the top art replacement alters, and while I know what I want the subject to be, I don't have a specific style or image in mind.

I hope that someone has advice on how to find an artist who has time under these circumstances.

I picked up a used CHG90, and the seller didn't include the vesa bracket. I'm desperate to find one; Samsung will neither take my money not tell me a part number to look for. I cannot find any on Amazon, eBay, or AliExpress.

Anyone have one laying around, or know where to find one?

I've been out of the loop for a while, so not sure of the last couple years of new cases.

Is there something with similar style to the node 202 that can fit a 280mm rad/aio. In particular, I want something that works well laying down so it is wider than it is tall, looking to mount under desk.

Even something rackmount would work

I have a supermicro 847B modified to fit standard 140mm fans in the fan wall (it was transplanted from another case, and doesn't fit perfectly, but very close). Includes all 36 LFF sleds and mounting hardware, rails, and a single ~700W PSU. Intrusion sensor is damaged (moving error), but all other issues are cosmetic.

I was thinking that around 300 would be fair if I could sell it locally. Am I off base?

Bottom Line up front: 8/10.

I had read a book from one of the author's other series (Minimum Wage Magic), and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of that novel. I noticed that she had a litrpg series in progress, so decided to investigate it. I went in with reasonably high expectations and was not disappointed.

The books are a (unique?) hybrid of the 'trapped in a VRMMO' and 'litrpg world is real' approaches to the genre. In this case, a fantasy world was somehow transmogrified into a video game, with the inhabitants forced to act as scripted NPCs for a subjective 80 years. The books depict a reasonably realistic version of how this kind of situation might play out, which is nice.

The

Product specs say it has a PIP mode. How does it work?

What I'd really want is to be able to toggle it into a sort of emulated dual 16:9 mode, whereby the OS sees a pair of displays instead of needing to manually resize windows. Please tell me it works that way.

2U coolers

Question / Help

I'm transplanting my NSFW build into a supermicro 847 chassis, which despite being a 4U enclosure only has 2U worth of clearance for the CPU coolers.

Does anyone have specific advice for coolers that work well with that kind of ceiling for socket 2011?
