Request for local menu help for pregnancy craving

Hi everyone,

So, I'm dying for some fried green tomatoes. Anyone know a restaurant that currently has them on the menu? I tried Googling but didn't find much. I've searched for frozen premade ones I could throw in the air fryer, but the best I came up with was a whole case at GFS for $65. I'd be willing to make from scratch, but buying green tomatoes seems unlikely this time of year.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Ron's Pizza in downtown Miamisburg has them on the menu year round

If you’re in the Monroe/Middletown area, Rivertown Brewery has some great fried green tomatoes on the menu, and you get free cornbread and spicy pickles too. The BBQ isn’t bad, but I don’t think it’s that special. I just go for the fried green maters!

Thank you! Sounds like a back up plan if needed. Honestly, this craving is so annoying because I can't remember ever really preferring fried green tomatoes or anything. So they probably don't even really need to be good, I doubt I'll know the difference.

Good fried green tomatoes are crispy, usually breaded with corn meal. Pretty easy to make if you have green tomatoes.. not sure where to find any though.

Dont most tomatoes arrive at stores still green? Maybe ask someone at Meijer or Kroger if they have some green tomatoes in the back? Fried green tomatoes are quite easy to make yourself. I normally bread them with egg and Italian bread crumbs.

No, they are greenish when they are picked and sent to the distribution center, but there they are treated with ethylene gas to redden them up before transport to the retailer. They are typically blushing pretty good when they are picked, though, "green" in this context means not fully ripe not necessarily the color.
